I'm starring in my own film!

I'm so excited to share what I've been working on for the last year: I’ve written a short script, I’m producing it, and starring in it. My short film The Walk Up asks: can a girl from a small town make a home for herself as a stranger in a big city?

Jordan Craig is starring in this with me. If you don’t know him, you should. He’s currently serenading North America as Raul, Vicomte de Chagny on the national tour of Phantom of the Opera (go see him in a city near you!). I’m snagging him in September to shoot this film, during his break from tour.

Rounding out my cast is Margaret Warncke, my boyfriend Max’s incredible mother. Maggie is a veteran actress of stage and screen (she co-starred in the original version of SHAFT, and the Original Broadway Cast of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR), a former Miss America contestant, and an all-around badass lady. (Here she is, in a recent writeup in the New York Times!)

I must mention two other vital members of my team: my brother, award winning musician Kevin Schneider, is scoring the film.  He’s an incredibly accomplished composer, and I finally get to realize my dream of professionally working with him. Nick Brown is directing, and I couldn’t be more excited to work with him. Nick and I met as rivals in a fantasy football league, but now we’re decidedly on the same team—making a movie.

Fund raising begins now, and I'm so stoked to be supported by an incredible fiscal sponsor, From the Heart Productions, which means donors get a tax write-off for their donations! Yes, for supporting my film you get a tax write-off.

If you want to foster creativity and community, please join me. Here's the link to donate to The Walk Up.
